Entering new geographical markets can be a great way to grow for businesses. Expanding operations into new territories, however, can be risky and may present with significant cost in terms of time and capital. But today even very young companies are often international – many entrepreneurial ventures are ‘born global’ in terms of their supply chain or customer base. These businesses are a part of a global movement toward internationalisation.
“To be a globally respected high performance organisation offering sustainable solutions in energy and environment.”
In line with the vision and business philosophy of ‘Conserving Resources and Preserving the Future’, Thermax supports industries and business establishments to be energy efficient and environment-friendly across the globe. Started in the early 90s, Absorption Cooling and Heating, the flagship division of Thermax, has expanded its global footprint in more than 90 countries with 6000+ installations worldwide offering sustainable solutions. Stepping further, Thermax Absorption Cooling and Heating Division has marked its footprint in three new countries in the past year.
Bolivia, South America
Thermax has successfully commissioned a 345 TR double effect steam-driven vapour absorption chiller at Industrias Venado, a part of Venado Group in Bolivia. ‘Industrias Venado’ manufactures food products like yeast and gelatine products in Bolivia under well-known brand names viz., Fleischmann and Real Salsa. The chiller is operating on a natural gas grid and provides chilled water at 12oC. This chilled water is used for maintaining a low temperature during the fermentation process, thus catering to their process cooling requirement. With this installation, Thermax has commissioned the first absorption chiller in this country. With Thermax’s energy-efficient chiller, the company is increasing the efficiency of the fermentation process and consequently improving its productivity.
Columbia, South America
Another country in South America where the division marked its footmark is Columbia, by commissioning a steam-driven vapour absorption chiller of 200 TR capacity at Eco Diesel, one of the biggest refineries in the country. This chiller yields water at 5oC which is used to lower the biodiesel temperature from 50oC to 25oC. At this temperature, the biodiesel is in its purest form, making it the most sought after fuel in its category. By providing an efficient solution, Thermax helps Eco Diesel to achieve high quality product making them a pioneer in the market.
Puerto Rico, Caribbean Islands
Thermax commissioned a 360 TR multi-energy Chiller for ‘De le Concepcion’ hospital at Puerto Rico in Caribbean islands. Being an island prone to hurricanes, Puerto Rico is adapting to a gas-based distributed power generation model to reduce its dependency on electricity supplied from the grid.
Thermax’s chiller forms a part of the Combined Heating Power & Cooling system, which helps recover waste heat from the engines installed and utilises it to provide chilled water up to 5.5oC for air conditioning the hospital.
With these installations, Thermax has been the first to supply absorption chillers in the mentioned countries. Our innovative and smart absorption technology is getting more credibility in the international markets by helping businesses gain profitability with efficiency and contributing positively to the environment. Thermax not only helps organisations meet demand but also helps build sustainable communities.
Thermax Absorption Cooling and Heating Division offers an extensive range of chillers that uses steam, hot water, exhaust gases, and other fuels as the heat source for catering process cooling and air conditioning applications worldwide.
